Remember I mentioned starting college in my last update? Well, I’m loving my course. It’s really good. I’m doing Digital Design Skills three days a week at college. I hope I pass at the end of the year and then I can go on and do level 2 which is a 2-year course.
We have support in class for all of us and I’ve been promised one to one support too.
It was a big change for me, but I’m pleased I was brave enough to go and I’ll end up with a qualification. There is a bus to college, but it stops on a really busy road, so at the moment my parents drop me off.
Yesterday I co-hosted at an event at North Wales Together. They were launching their 10 year learning disability strategy. Tomorrow I’m meeting up with Sam as part of my Youth Parliament role to look at the active travel data.
As Health Check Champions, we’ve been promoting Annual Health Checks as much as we can and promoting the Get Checked Out website.
I’ve been involved in organising the Conwy Connect talent show at Theatre Colwyn next week. We’ve sold lots of tickets but there are a few left if you’re interested! We held auditions last month and we’ve informed those who have got through to the final stages of the talent show. We’re doing a pantomime in the first half – I’m responsible for the lights and sound for that and then I’m co-hosting the talent show itself. The pantomime and the talent show will be performed by people with a learning disability. It’s going to be great fun.
