It’s Down Syndrome Awareness month this month. I’m wearing my Down Syndrome tee shirt and hoodie. I do some diary updates for the Down Syndrome Association too on a regular basis.

I’m pleased with my achievements and I post about them on my blog.  I have a MIRROR Award and a certificate from the West Wales Regional Partnership Board behind me on the shelf!  I post on YouTube and do podcasts on Spotify.

I started my volunteering with Mencap a few weeks ago.  I’m going to be attending events and doing some public speaking. I’m in training at the moment and will be doing Safeguarding training soon.  It’ll be great to have some more skills to add to my CV and I’m looking forward to attending things.

I’m helping mum out with her business at the moment too – labelling the jars (she makes skin creams and things like that). I’m hoping she’s going to pay me!  It’ll get really busy just before Christmas.

We’re living back in Carmarthen again now.  We’re still in temporary accommodation after the fire in our house in Talley, but this house is better as it’s closer to Carmarthen town centre. It’s easier to access public transport, but it’s so disruptive having to move about and we’ve got lots of stuff all over the place

I’m planning to do more travelling next year – I make friends easily and I make loads of friends when I go to AdFest.  Hoping to get to Cardiff and other places to meet up with friends next year.

I’ve been the National Council rep for a few years now and the elections are coming up from November. My last meeting will be in March. I’ve really enjoyed representing my area and bringing the big issues to the national council for discussion.  The big issues have been around transport and benefits mainly.

My weekly routine is a busy one. I go to The Mix Youth Club on Tuesday nights – it’s for people with and people without a learning disability.  There’s discos run by Carmarthenshire PF on Tuesdays too.

Mondays and Tuesdays are my days when I have support and we often do outdoor stuff like wild swimming in Bechfa. I also do a lot of art work and sell it.  I paint canvasses and boards and I also paint stones.  When I advertise them, I get a lot of interest from abroad but I can’t post outside the UK unfortunately
