What a lovely sunny day! I’m in London at my granddad’s house and I’ve been doing my daily exercises with resistance bands. I do crunches, squats etc.
I had a bit of a health scare the other week – the doctor told me I was pre-diabetic and I have had to change my diet. It’s not been too hard to do and I’m used to it now.
I changed my diet straightaway – I eat more fruit and vegetables and more wholegrain foods. No chocolates or sweets for me at the moment. It’s important I get my sugar levels in my blood down to a good level. Anyone can become pre-diabetic – it’s really important to eat healthily and exercise. When they told me, I decided to do something about it and I feel like I’m in control of my food and weight now.
I did some sightseeing in London this weekend. We went to see Big Ben and Houses of Parliament. Big Ben looks all golden and shiny now after all the work that was being done on it.
We came down on the train from north Wales to London. We make sandwiches for the train and then buy a hot drink from the café on the train.
I’m focussing on my health for the autumn and I’ll be teaching again from December. My Gig Buddy and I went out for food last month and at Anheddau we had a talk from someone from the Rivers Trust. They look after the rivers and the wildlife in them.
Next week, as part of my group at Anheddau, we’re doing bus training. We are going on the bus to Llandudno for a day out. We’ll practice buying our tickets etc. We’ll probably go to Wetherspoons for lunch.
