I’ve been volunteering this morning at Caerphillly Miners again.  I’m doing a First Aid course with them soon.

On 8th September it will be a year since I moved into this new place and started living independently. Can you believe it?  It’s been fantastic really – there have been a couple of challenges but overall, it’s been great.

My birthday celebrations went well and then after AdFest we went on a cruise around the Norwegian Fjords.  it was gorgeous.

I really enjoyed AdFest and a few of us went to Kiwis in the evening for karaoke. We didn’t get back until 3.00 am.  I feel so sad about Dolly Parton dying – we definitely need to have some country music at the next AdFest – I’ll recommend it to Gerraint!  I was doing my drag rehearsal when I heard about Dolly dying.

So sad about Bonnie Tyler too – I think she was an Ambassador for Cerebral Palsy Cymru – I have got cerebral palsy.  It affects my speech.  Once, a number of years ago, I was stuttering badly in a pub, and they refused to serve me because they assumed I was drunk (because of my stammer).  Something similar happened to a friend of mine recently. It’s awful.

I’m off to Scotland soon to meet up with David, one of our members who lives there and who is also a Peer Mentor on Innovate.  The Peer Mentor group won an award at AdFest this year.  We were really proud.

Princess, my dog is coming to stay later today.  Then I’m off on a boat trip around Cardiff Bay tomorrow.
