7th April: I’ve just been for a nice walk with my nan. I’m trying to walk off the Easter eggs!
Things are starting to open up a bit and I’m desperate to go places but I know that’s not the right attitude. We still need to be really careful. I’ve had my first jab and I felt a bit rough afterwards.
I’ve been meeting my friend in the garden and going for walks – it’s great to be able to do that.
The relationships training is going ahead on the Insight App and we had over 20 attendees last week. In this week’s session we will be interviewing a drag queen about coming out as gay and what sparked their interest in drag. We’re doing the interview live and we’ll also have some pre-recorded videos from other gay people telling us of their experiences. Last week’s session looked at how to make yourself feel good and the myth of the ‘perfect man’ or ‘perfect woman’.
16th April: I’m getting ready to go to work today – it’s been work, work and more work all week. Sometimes my support worker takes me to work and picks me up and sometimes it’s my boss or my mum! It depends on how many people will be in the car as we have to socially distance.
We’re busy in work setting up ipads for members so that they can be digitally included and join in online events – we had some funding for the ipads.
The Relationships training went really well last week – in fact we went over our time, so we have to do a re-cap next week. We’ve had great feedback and we’ve been talking about quite complex terms for describing sexuality.
I haven’t been shopping yet but I’m planning a trip to Cardiff in early May, now that the shops have re-opened.
