The General Election
I urge all people with learning disabilities to vote in the General election.
The election is taking place on the 12th December 2019.
It is very important that you have your say.
It is important that politicians know that we engage in politics.
And that they need to make decisions that are fair for us.
This election is one of the most important in a long time.
It is a period of great uncertainty.
Some people say Brexit will be very good for the UK.
Some say Brexit will be terrible for the UK.
The issue of Brexit has been going on for a long time.
All of the major parties have something to say about Brexit.
The Conservatives say they will get Brexit done if they become the government.
And stop the uncertainty.
Labour say they will negotiate another deal and put the vote back to the people.
The people will decide whether to accept the Brexit deal or stay in the European Union.
The Liberal Democrats say they would cancel Brexit if they were elected.
They would keep us in the European Union.
The Brexit Party want to make sure that Brexit is done properly.
They want to make sure that the Brexit the people voted for happens.
Plaid Cymru feels that Brexit is bad for Wales. They say Wales is better off in the European Union.
They say that Westminster have not done what is right or fair for Wales.
The Green Party talk about their new ‘Green Deal’
They say the environment is the most important thing that faces the world.
If elected they would make the country more friendly to the environment.
I say, that whoever you vote for, please vote for someone.
We are very luck to live in a country where we have freedom of speech.
A lot of people fought for the right to vote.
Your opinion is very important.
You need to be heard.
If we want to take our place as equal citizens and we want to make our life fairer we need to get involved in politics.
Please vote on December 12th.
