Hi, I’m Tracy and I’m the Chair of AWPF’s National Council as well as being the National Council representative for Anglesey. I am also the North Wales Flyers Co-ordinator – a role which I job share with a colleague.

The North Wales Flyers are based out of Conwy Connect and we meet regularly to talk about issues which affect people with a learning disability, such as the cost of living, or public transport issues.

I have a variety of voluntary roles too: I do seasonal work for the National Trust at Plas Newydd in their shop.  I also work in the Wild Elements shop in Bangor.  Wild Elements works to connect people with the outdoors and nature.

I present a radio show twice a week for Mon FM – on Tuesdays at 4pm and Saturdays at 11 am.  For the Tuesday hour I think about ideas for children and young people to do after school and I try to promote learning disability issues too.  On Saturdays I reminisce and talk about game shows.

I’m heavily involved in the Girl Guiding movement and lead the local Brownie pack in Llanfairpwll on Tuesday nights – I’ve been doing this for 10 years now. I recently got my 20-year service award for Girl Guiding.

I’m out and about a lot and I use public transport to get around.  The buses are reasonably reliable, but you can’t always be sure you’ll get somewhere on time.  I recently lost my bus pass and am trying to reapply. I’ve been trying to get hold of the PIP people regarding my points.  I’m currently paying full price for all my trips.

I rejoined the local Karate club now that things have reopened after Covid. I go on Monday nights and have got my brown star badge for my belt and I’m working on my first Kyu at the moment.

My boyfriend lives in Birmingham and I’m going to stay with him and his family next week.  We met in college.  I live independently in sheltered accommodation.  I used to have a support worker at one time, but in 2019 my support hours were stopped because they said I was too independent!  My parents have both died but I do have family on Anglesey who help me if I need it.  I am an auntie to various nephews and nieces and I love it.
