I’m pleased to say that I am fully recovered from my stroke. I’m on the waiting list for physiotherapy at Ysbyty Gwynedd. I don’t use my stick at all now; the last time I used it was at Chester Zoo because I hadn’t been there before and was a bit nervous.

Wednesdays are busy days for me – I work at Hope House in Bangor in the mornings before the Electric Umbrella Music Machine session.  I used to be a production assistant for EU, but now I’m their Ambassador for north Wales and then  I have a Wednesday night slot on Hospital Radio at Ysbyty Gwynedd and the theme is hobbies. I talk to listeners about what they like to do in their spare time.

I am still also a DJ on Mon FM radio station – my slot goes out at 6 o clock in the morning on Saturdays and the theme is children’s TV programmes. It’s pre-recorded.

We had a couple of lovely Christmas meals with Hospital radio and Hope House in December.  A few days before Christmas I went to Llangefni to see my nieces.  I also go to Llangefni for my bass guitar lessons on Tuesday afternoons – I get the bus there and one of the staff members meets me.

I’m working for Transport for Wales on their panel – I joined in October.  We went to Llanelli a while ago to talk about accessibility especially around the transport interchanges – it’s important that these are accessible for people who use wheelchairs or for people pushing buggies.

I joined Bwythyn Sonig a few months ago – we all play music together and we meet up every other Saturday. We performed at AdFest last year too.

My nephew is about to choose his GCSE options – I need to re-take my History GCSE because I had a bad result last year.  I’m also taking French and Business Studies this year. I go to Creative in Excellence in Mold for lessons or I can also go online.  I sit the exams at their centre in Mold, so if it’s a morning exam I will need to stay over the night before.  If it’s an afternoon exam, I can get there on the train and then get a taxi.

I’m quite used to using public transport. I go down to Electric Umbrella 2 – 4 times a year by myself and stay in a hotel. I book it all myself.

I’m still involved with the Brownies, but it’s now in Menai Bridge and I’m still a National Council rep for Anglesey.

I’m delighted to say I got my bus pass the other month too – a lady from Agoriad helped me to sort it out.
