It’s six months since I moved into my flat and started living more independently. I can honestly say there are no negatives to it, but it’s taken a little while to get used to the different support staff here.  My own personal assistants still support me, plus there’s support from the staff in the complex too.  It’s just getting used to different people I guess.

Princess my dog is allowed to stay overnight with me and she’s here today and we’re chilling out this morning. Mum will pick her up later.

The complex was nominated for an award for the best social living – we won too!  The trophy is upstairs in the communal area.

I don’t miss my mum because I see lots of her.  I cook my own food now – such as chicken curry.  I made bara brith last week (with a bit of help!). I’ve lost a stone and a half by using the Mounjaro injection – I lost lots of weight during Covid but had put some of it back on.

I go to do my food shopping by myself these days. I walk down to Morrisons and then catch the bus back up the hill with my shopping.

I’m still doing loads with the House of Deviant.  Joe, Sophie and Simon came to see a show in Newport a few weeks ago and we’re offering drag sessions online now.  Three more AWPF members have joined the online sessions.

There’s another drag show on May 15th – we’re doing it without Dragma again.  Dragma is the drag name of Gareth, who set up House of Deviant. It’s good to do shows without them as it helps to give us confidence – Dragma will be there in the background.

This year I’m coming to AdFest and having my own room – no more sharing with anyone else!
