How time flies!  I last did an update in December.  Since then loads has happened.  Last time we chatted, I was worrying about whether the Christmas do would be cancelled because of the new Covid variant!  It wasn’t cancelled and we had a great time. I also went out to Cardiff with friends for my birthday in January and we stayed in a hotel overnight.

I’ve been on holiday with family to Cyprus since then too, so things are definitely improving!

I’ve got a paid job!  You already know I am the Chair of Caerphilly People First. Well, I’ve got a paid role as the Executive Assistant to the Manager of Caerphilly People First for a few hours a week.  I’ll continue in my Chairperson role until the AGM when I’ll step down. I’m so pleased to get the job – I’ve had paid employment before but found it quite stressful.  This time, I have plenty of support from my colleagues and I’m loving it.  I also update the social media for Caerphilly People First and I’m still volunteering with Insight.

I got the all clear regarding my chest pains, after waiting a long time for the results of my ECG.  I did ask the GP for some help with my anxiety but I was disappointed with what was offered to me in the end.

I caught Covid in March – I felt awful for a couple of days but then it just felt like I had a cold. It’s Mental Health Awareness week this week and we have a social event arranged with the Insight app. I’m off out next week too for a friend’s birthday, I’ve booked for Adfest and I’ve booked Pride tickets! Roll on summer!
