We’re picking up my grandad from hospital today – he’s been in for some treatment because he’s not very well, so I’m in the car with my nephew and my mum.
I’m still running the Relationships Course and it’s been very well received. I’ve been asked to do it at Cwm Taff People First’s Vivafest next week. I’m going to be on the main stage!
I’m hoping to make some friendship bracelets in work tomorrow, to be given out at the festival next week.
I enjoyed delivering the Relationships course at AdFest last week too – I couldn’t get people to stop asking questions! It was great that they were so engaged with it. There was some interesting feedback and a lot of people said that they felt there was a lack of support for people with learning disabilities who want to have children. The chances of IVF treatment or adoption for people with a learning disability were also raised at the sessions. I think this feedback came up at each Round Robin group.
AdFest was amazing – I really enjoyed it. I’m going to complete the feedback form tonight.
I’m still working at Caerphilly PF although I’ve reduced my hours a bit. We’re heading to Cardiff next week to see Annie and I’m going again with my friend for drinks and staying the night in Cardiff. I do use the bus sometimes and I have a bus pass, but I do need someone with me when I use public transport.
I mentioned last time that I was having support from Autistic Minds – this is still going on and it’s been helpful. I do a lot of journaling these days, I try to write in my journal every night and then twice a week I do a mental health check-in sheet. It can be challenging at times but on the whole, I feel it is helping me. I always struggle with the question ‘where do you see yourself in 5 years?’. I’m also trying to get motivated to do more exercise, whilst I’m waiting for my knee operation.
