Life in Lockdown: Nicole, August 2020

Exciting news!  I’m going back to work on 21st August. I work in a care home as an Activities Co-ordinator for one day a week.  I’ll have to wear a mask.  We organise activities like bingo etc.  I’m really looking forward to it.

I’ve lost another 6lbs in weight and only have 12 lbs left to reach my target. It’s been really hard to do but I feel much better for it though I’ve had to buy new clothes.  In total I’ve lost 37lbs now.

Princess, the new dog is allowed to go out now so I’ve been taking her out for walks.

I’ve done the design for my new cross-stitch.  My nan taught me how to sew; unfortunately she passed away, but I have all her needles and embroidery thread and I’m going to start sewing tomorrow.

I went to Barry Island again this week and went in the sea – it wasn’t too cold!  My support worker has been helping me with housework – cleaning and ironing – this week too.

I really enjoyed the Gig Buddies Kazoom festival last Friday – there were members from England, Wales, Scotland and Australia. I wore my daffodil hat.  At the end we did a singalong of Bohemian Rhapsody.

It’s my partner’s birthday towards the end of August so I’ll be seeing him for the first time when we go out for food.
